Sustainability and Energy Efficiency in Mórahalom
For our TDM organization, sustainability and energy efficiency are not just goals but values we put into practice every day. For tourists visiting our town, not only the beautiful landscapes and rich cultural heritage matter, but also how they can contribute to protecting the environment. This is why we have been working for years to ensure that our operations are increasingly aligned with the principles of sustainability.
Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Sources
To support sustainability, our office has taken several steps to reduce energy consumption. Since January 2, 2023, the solar panels installed on our roof have supported our daily operations, resulting in significant energy savings. The solar panels not only provide electricity for the office but also contribute to the efficient operation of our air-conditioning systems, thereby minimizing gas consumption and reducing the demand for grid electricity.
In addition, we use inverter air conditioners in our office, which provide both cooling and heating, further reducing our environmental impact. These units are programmable and can be operated via Wi-Fi, allowing us to optimize their performance even more. Energy savings are supported not only by the air conditioners but also by efficient LED lighting, water-saving taps, and high-quality insulated doors and windows.
We monitor our electricity consumption and production monthly, allowing us to intervene immediately if needed to reduce usage further. Our equipment undergoes scheduled annual maintenance, and our managing director regulates the use of the air conditioners based on reports and sustainability principles. In the guest information guide prepared for our accommodation providers, we specifically highlight the use of energy-efficient “smart” air-conditioning systems.
Our TDM organization actively supports local accommodation providers with sustainability recommendations and grant opportunities, helping them modernize their energy systems. In 2024, we provided sustainability information materials to help guests stay mindful of environmental considerations during their holidays. Our company operates exclusively electric vehicles, and we have also installed an electric charging station to promote sustainable transportation. Additionally, we are continuously working to reduce our carbon footprint and address the impacts of climate emergencies. For us, sustainability is an everyday practice that we gladly share with our partners and guests.
