7. Waste Management
Events Built on Sustainability and Eco-Friendly Practices
Our goal is to make a positive impact on communities and the environment through sustainable tourism and environmentally conscious events, as outlined below.
Plastic-Free Events
Avoiding disposable items—especially single-use plastics—is a fundamental principle for us. We strictly adhere to this guideline at our events; for example, during the 10th Pálinka and Crackling Festival, we provided a completely plastic-free environment. We used glass cups for serving drinks and biodegradable materials for cutlery, offering a responsible experience not only for festival visitors but also for the environment.
Waste Management Practices
In terms of waste management, we place special emphasis on properly handling all waste produced, including food waste. In our office and at our events, we collect waste selectively and continuously measure its volume so we can reduce waste production more effectively. Materials that cannot be reduced are recycled or reused, thereby lowering our ecological footprint. Any remaining waste is handled safely, without harmful effects on the environment or the local population.
In the spirit of sustainability, all vehicles we own are electric, so we do not burden the environment with fossil fuels.
To encourage the consumption of tap water, we do not sell water in plastic bottles. Instead, we provide visitors with the option to refill their reusable bottles. This step not only reduces plastic waste but also contributes to environmental protection.
Recycling Initiatives and Taking Responsibility as a Community
We actively participate in community initiatives that go beyond basic waste separation. We regularly organize litter-picking events in which volunteers help clean the local environment. One of the most recent initiatives was the cleanup of one of the stops of the Bunker Tour held on September 20, 2024.
